Your Voice Matters

What kind of places will we leave for our children's children?

Every day across our region, public decisions are being made about which places will be developed and which will be protected. Only you can make sure these decisions are the right ones. Acting along with other citizens and local officials, you can make sure that the woods down the street remains a place where wildflowers bloom and birds return each spring. Only you can make certain that a child will have the chance to know a trillium or see a field of corn come to life.

GreenLinks believes that only by planning and working together can we imagine a better future. For you, a first step is to check the status of your favorite place - its unique plants and animals and their contribution to the region's environmental health. Then find the group that is working to preserve and enhance that place. At public meetings, let decision-makers know what you value.

By protecting and restoring our rivers, wetlands, forests, and prairies we can enhance and protect our quality of life not only for ourselves, but for our children's children.
